Membership We welcome new members to the Association. Membership is open to all with an interest in gemmology and who share the aims of the Association to promote interest in, and the study of, gemmology in Scotland As a member of the SGA, you will be able to learn more about the fascinating world of gemstones, keep up to date with recent developments in gemmology and meet others who share your enthusiasm Our meetings, conferences and other events are open to members and their guests. Membership of the SGA is free although this will be reviewed at our first AGM in March 2010. If you have attended an event run by the Scottish Branch of the Gem-A before, then you don't need to support your application If you have never attended any kind of event before then you should fill in the form and either, get support from two existing members or, alternatively, if that is not possible, state your reasons for joining. We are aware that there is considerable interest from overseas and it is possible that many interested parties may have never been to (or never will attend) any of our Scottish Branch events. Every application will require approval from the Executive Committee of the SGA and the Committee reserve the right to reject an unsuitable application, where appropriate.
